About Camrose

Camrose is a vibrant and growing city in the heart of Alberta; boasting exceptional quality of life, first class services, and exciting opportunities.

We are proud to be a part of the Camrose community, and we are excited to grow with our neighbors.

Camrose has a population of over 18,000 people, featuring nine golf courses within a 45 minute radius.

Camrose is proud of its historic district – many of the homes and buildings in the area have been artfully restored, reflective of their construction in the early 1910s – and the historic downtown shopping core boasts some of the most unique shops in the province.

The recently restored Bailey Theatre – currently Alberta’s oldest operating theatre – is prominently located on the north end of Main Street.

Camrose is home to the University of Alberta – Augustana Campus, boasting over 1,000 students in an academic year. You can also find the Jeannie and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre on the campus as well.

Camrose’s state of the art recreation centre – featuring three ice surfaces, curing rink, swimming pool and fitness centre – is home of the Junior A Kodiaks Hockey Club, U of A Vikings and numerous world class sporting events throughout the year.

Camrose Regional Exhibition host to the Big Valley Jamboree, Growing Rural Tourism Conference, International Bull Congress, and many other provincial, national and international events.

Camrose is also a hub for manufacturing, education, commerce and health care in east-central Alberta.
